The Vine... "Imma Do It"

John 15:1-17

Jesus expresses to his disciples the importance of staying connected to him. He uses a story of a grapevine. He tells them the vine is the source, the branch is us, and the grapes are the fruit we produce. In other words, without the vine, the branches are nothing. If we don't have the vine, the branches cannot even be, let alone produce any fruit. So, we must stay connected to the TRUE VINE!

Are you producing any fruit? Are your branches dead because you aren't connected to the SON Jesus?

Jesus said we would be known by our fruits. We need to bear the right fruit. According to Paul in Galatians 5:22-23, we need to produce love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the fruits we should bear every day. However, we cannot if we are not a branch that is connected to Jesus.

Many of you know the phrase "do it for the vine"; which was a viral phrase that persuaded people to perform an act for social media. However, today I encourage you to do it for the TRUE VINE. What are you doing?

Do it for the Vine (live for Him)

Do it for the Vine (connect to Him)

Do it for the Vine (share the Gospel of Jesus Christ)

Do it for the Vine (let him abide in you)

Do it for the Vine (let him have total control of your life)

Do it for the Vine (Stay Connected to Jesus)

So guess what I'm gonna do it for my True Vine, I'm gonna stay devoted and connected to him so I can tell the world of my dying Savior who still lives. I'm gonna do it for my True Vine, I'm going to sing of his LOVE forever. I'm gonna do it for my True Vine, I'm going to shout it out loud that Jesus wants your heart and he wants you to be a branch and join the laboring team to help harvest lost souls.
