Overcoming Evil

📷

Today, I have come to speak to the warrior in you. To awaken the warrior in you. Why is it necessary that the warrior inside of you is awakened? This is necessary, because we live in a state of warfare everyday of our lives. Paul teaches us in the book of Ephesians that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but we wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” It is for this cause that the Lord God in heaven has moved me to speak to the warrior in you. Aren’t you tired of the calamities that are surrounding us? I have come to the point where I am tired of passively suffering the attacks of the enemy. Being a Christian does not mean that you must be passive. There is a warrior inside of everyone of us, and it’s time to fight! I don’t know about you, but I cringe every time I hear that another marriage has fallen apart. Marriages are being attacked by wicked spirits and principalities. Aren’t you tired of hearing on the news that another person has taken their own life? Each day of our lives we hear of another tragedy. Children are taking their own lives now. Schools are being shot up. These are children that we are talking about now. Children! As you can see, your adversary Satan does not care that they are children. He will destroy whoever he can. We must understand the seriousness of this spiritual warfare. This is a serious matter! In fact, it’s a matter of life and death. Therefore, it is critical that you are prepared to fight. Awaken the warrior in you. The Bible teaches us that “the Kingdom suffers violence, but the violent taketh by force.” What does this mean? We must condition our spirits for the warfare that we face. This means that we must attack the forces of the devil with violence. However, one of the mistakes that we make is that we attempt to fight spiritual wickedness by physical measure. Child of God you can not fight spiritual wickedness with flesh and blood. Paul teaches us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Often times we get angry with people for mistreating us or offending us. We are quick to get angry and strike back, but you cannot fight evil spirits with flesh and blood. We must always be mindful that there is a spirit behind everything. I will say that again. Behind every act is a spirit. How do we fight evil spirits?  First of all we must recognize that there is power in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, and that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He is Lord. Secondly, We fight evil with good. “Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” Please hear this! Marriages are shattered because we are overcome by evil. Murder and adultery is common place because we have been overcome by evil. Suicide has become so prevalent around the world, because evil has overcome many of us in our minds. We must be determined to overcome evil with good. Overcome evil with good. Sometimes our loved ones hurt us with words and harmful remarks. You must choose to overcome those hurtful remarks with something sweet to say. Overcome thoughts of death and despair with thoughts of joy and life. Every time the enemy gives you an excuse to take your own life, you must choose to think of a reason to live. When the enemy tells you that you are worthless, you must declare that “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”  For every evil attack, there is a good response that can overtake it. For every evil thought, there is good thought that can overtake it. Everyday of our lives, we must be mindful that we are at war. This is more than being cordial to our fellowmen. This more than just being polite. This is overcoming evil with good. Warriors of the living God, it is time to fight.
