My Lord What Shall We Do?

📷

Today, I want to share with you a story that comes from 2nd Kings Chapter 6 of The Bible concerning the prophet Elisha. In this particular story, Elisha and his servant were surrounded by Syrians troops. This enemy troop had every intention of harming Elisha. During this particular time the Syrians and the Israelites were at war. The Syrian king named Benhadad was angry with Elisha, because Elisha warned the king of Israel that Benhadad was planning to assassinate him. Basically, the king of Syria was angry with Elisha because Elisha was a truth teller. Elisha took a stand by warning the king of Israel that Benhadad was planning to take his life. Therefore, the enemy became angry. I can imagine Benhadad saying, “How dare this man speak out against me and my treachery? How dare he?!” That brings us to our first point.  1) I have come to let you know that you should expect your adversary to be angry whenever you decide to take a stand. I dare you to take a stand for righteousness, and somebody’s going to get mad. They get angry when you speak against the sinful nature and the evil ways of men. They get angry when the rumor gets around that you will only preach holiness and holy living. 2). Not only will the enemy be angry, but you should also expect your enemy to attack. You should expect them to attack your name, because they will. You should expect them to attack your character, because they will. You should expect them to spread rumors and lies about you, because they surely will. They will see you as judgmental rather than a brother/sister that is concerned about their souls. They will consider you to be a nosy busybody rather than prophets sent by God to warn them of the coming destruction. I have come to let your know that when you take a stand for God, you should expect the attacks of the enemy. There will be times when they will threaten your very life, but I dare you to stand for the Jesus of the Bible. Fight for the righteousness of God! Stand for Jesus! Stand for holy living! Don’t let Satan intimidate you! So the story continues.. Elisha and his servants are surrounded by Syrian troops. The servant of Elisha was overwhelmed by the presence of the enemy troops. The servant was so over whelmed that he cried unto Elisha saying, “ My Lord! What shall we do? How many of you can relate to the Gehazi when you look at the circumstances of your life? Lord I’m faithful on my job, but there are still people that drag my name through the dirt. “My Lord, what shall we do?” The doctor has given you a report so bad that it has buckled your knees, and you can’t help but to wonder “My Lord! What shall we do?” The world around us is in moral decay, and we are crying “My Lord, what shall we do?” My Lord, the governmental leaders around the world seem to be out of their minds “What shall we do?!!!” I love Elisha’s response. Elisha told his servant “Fear not, they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” As the Syrians surrounded the man of God and his servant, a heavenly troop of fire surrounded the Syrian troops.” Today, I have come to encourage you, “Fear not, they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” God’s angels are all around you! Fear Not!! The Lord is a man of war, and he shall protect you!!  Fear Not!! Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Fear Not!! You are more than a conqueror through him that loves you. Fear Not!! Fear Not! Fear Not!! Be strong, be courageous, and stand.

Finally, Elisha prayed to the Lord God in heaven for his servant. Elisha prayed, “Lord, open his eyes that he may see.” You see, That is my prayer for you today that your eyes are open to the spiritual world. My prayer for you is that you are not moved or intimidated by your adversary the devil. I pray that you will notice attacks of the enemy though they be subtle. I pray that you can see the hand of God, and lastly I pray that you fight!! You must fight!!! Child of God you must fight!! You don’t have to commit suicide, fight for your sanity. Fight for your salvation! Fight for your health!!! Fight for your purpose!!
